MEMORIAL HALL
The Memorial Hall has been repainted and is now bright and shining. The curtains have also been cleaned. The Hall can be booked for meetings, parties etc. for £4.50 per hour. It is your Hall, please make use of it. For details of availability please contact the Parish Clerk, Ken Porter, 01295 758352.
The kitchen has not been redecorated at this time as a planning application is about to be submitted to allow us to build an extension to the rear to improve facilities.

CHANGES IN THE PARISH COUNCIL
Following the retirement of Mike Terry we are pleased to welcome back onto the Parish Council Melvyn Riley. Melvyn was previously on the Council from 1995 2000 and it is gratifying to have him back on board. Unfortunately we now have another vacancy as Joe Williams is finding it hard to juggle all of his many roles at present and has decided to relinquish his position as parish councillor for the time being. We thank Joe for all his hard work, particularly during his two years as Chairman, and wish him every success in the future. Anybody wishing to become actively involved in local affairs and wanting to replace Joe on the Parish Council is asked to contact the clerk, Ken Porter, on 01295 758352 or at kenneth_i.porter@virgin.net.

MOBBS LANE/QUEEN STREET
The Parish Council is concerned by the danger created by parked vehicles on Mobbs Lane. Drivers coming from Queen Street or Bourne Lane are having to move over to pass parked cars and often find themselves confronted by a vehicle turning in from Chapel Street. There have been a number of near accidents already. As there does not seem to be any practicable way to prevent such parking the Parish Council is largely in favour of making Mobbs Lane one-way
towards Chapel Street. It follows that Queen Street should also be made one-way for its full length. If parishioners have views on this proposal, either for or against, please make them known to members of the Parish Council.

ROAD CLOSURE
You may have noticed that the advertised road closure between the Wigginton crossroads and Milcombe has not taken place, and the notices by the roadside have disappeared.
Notice has been served in the Banbury Guardian of the proposed closure of the road between Ironstone Hollow and Wigginton crossroads for 16 days from 3rd October for carriageway works.
Access to properties in Station Road will be possible.
